Note: If you are using a Focusrite interface from the Scarlett Range, we suggest uninstalling ASIO4ALL since it seems to conflict with Focusrite's proprietary driver.
Choose ASIO as the Driver Type and ASIO4ALL v2 as the Audio Device:.Launch Live and open Live's Preferences -> Audio.
Download and install the latest version of ASIO4ALL.However, if your interface does not come with a native ASIO driver, or if you are experiencing issues using the current driver then you can use ASIO4ALL instead. If your audio interface already has a native ASIO driver, we recommend to use that. More information about ASIO can be found on Steinberg Media Technologies' web pages.ASIO4ALL is a freeware universal audio driver for Windows which supports ASIO. When you use ASIO, only one program at a time can access the card.Using a card via an ASIO driver can give latency figures as low as 3ms.If in doubt, check with the audio card manufacturer. As stated above, ASIO does not guarantee low latency, but it allows for it if the audio card designers take advantage of its possibilities. More and more audio cards designed for serious music and audio use come with ASIO drivers. Via an ASIO driver This is your best option if it is available. More information about DirectX can be found on Microsoft's DirectX web pages. If in doubt, contact your audio card vendor to check whether there's a DirectX driver for your card or not.
Note: Only use DirectX if you are sure that there is a "certified" DirectX driver installed for your sound card.
ASIO4All or other generic drivers (Cubase install a generic ASIO Driver), could be less optimised.
If your card appears in the System part of the Control Panel, you have an MME driver installed.
